Activities for the Fire Prevention Education Toolkit

Dear
Educators: Due to the extremely high potential for wild fires
in Kentucky this year, we are asking teachers to conduct fire
prevention safety lessons for their students. On this page, you
will find three activities that can be adapted to students of
all ages. There is also a list of materials needed for those
activities as well as a document that includes background
information to help you with the activities. This document
includes how the activities align with the state academic
standards.
If you are in
Eastern Kentucky, your local Conservation District Office has
toolkits for loan that contain all the materials needed to do
these activities. See
http://www.conservation.ky.gov/condistricts/.
No
matter where you are in the state, you can easily purchase the
materials at most grocery or home improvement stores. Thank you
for your help in teaching students what they can do to prevent
human caused wildfires in Kentucky.
