Join EELCorps​

Passionate about the outdoors? Make your mark and help people of all ages connect with the natural world. The Environmental Education Leadership Corps is sponsoring EELCorps AmeriCorps members at sites across the Commonwealth to lead environmental education, Light the spark for a better tomorrow in your community. Help with summer camps, lead EE lessons, engage with K-12 learners, and Serve with AmeriCorps!​

Partner with EELCorps

Recruitment for EELCorps service site partners​ for the 2025-2026 AmeriCorps service year will begin in February. EELCorps service site partners are made up of Kentucky nonprofits, educational institutions, and governmental agencies that have a framework for environmental education, but need folks with a passion for the field of environmental education to bring their educational offerings to life. If you are an agency that could benefit from the service of an AmeriCorps member, please stay tuned, and send any questions to our Program Director, Ashley Mike at ashley.mike@ky.gov.​​


​Announcements

The Environmental Education Training for State Agencies will be held January 28th, 2025, at the 300 Building in Frankfort from 9am to 4pm. This training is free to attend for any employee or contractor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Simply complete the registration form​. If you have any questions, please email our Environmental Education Specialist, Risa Yost at risa.yost@ky.gov.




KEEC is hosting a Project Curriculum Training and certification in three environmental education (EE) curricula: Project Learning Tree, Project WILD, and Project WET. Click here to register​.

The training will take place at Woodford County Conservation District on Tuesday, February 11, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. It will include active participation in EE activities, peer teaching and discussions on EE best practices, EE organizations, and where to find resources to support programing. The cost of the training is $100 and includes each of the three curriculum guides and a provided lunch.​​​Project Curriculum Training.pngf
