Guidelines for Excellence

The National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education, initiated by the National Assocation for Environmental Education in 1993, has developed a series of Guidelines that set the standards for high-quality environmental education. Each of these publications was developed by a diverse team of professionals, and each has gone through a substantive review by thousands of professionals prior to its publication.

Kentucky Interdisciplinary Units of Study

New environment-based, interdisciplinary units of study, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, were developed by teams of teachers as part of the process of implementing the Kentucky Environmental Literacy Plan.

KEEC is a state agency within the Education and Labor Cabinet. Our mission is to promote an informed and knowledgeable citizenry with the skills and attributes necessary to effectively and constructively solve existing environmental problems, prevent new ones, and maintain a balanced and economically healthy environment for future generations.

Kentucky Association for Environmental Education  

The Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE) is a non-profit and serves as the professional membership-based organization for environmental education and the coordinator for national curriculum projects such as Project WET, Project WILD, and Project Learning Tree.​
