Continuing Education

Certified Professional Environmental Educators must renew their certification each year through participation in continuing education.

All NAAEE accredited certification programs are founded on NAAEE's Professional Development of Environmental Educators: Guidelines for Excellence.

Renewal Requirements

New Graduates

New PEEC graduates are required only to submit a Continuing Education plan using the C.E. Report Form to prepare for their first renewal.

Lapsed Certification

If you believe your certification has lapsed contact Risa Yost at risa.yost@ky.gov.

In the case your certification has lapsed, you must complete a reinstatement course in addition to the other continuing education requirements. After confirming your certification status, fill out the Reinstatement Course Application. [PDF, 381KB]

Only graduates whose certification has been lapsed for 3 years or fewer will be eligible for reinstatement, and the Reinstatement fee will be $25 for those whose certification has been lapsed for one year, $50 for two years, and $75 for three years.
