Interagency Subcommittee on Environmental Education

ISEE Membership

KEEC is required by statute to establish an interagency subcommittee to advise the council on environmental education matters.  To achieve
this, the agency convenes a quarterly meeting of the Interagency Subcommittee on Environmental Education (ISEE). Active members of the committee include representatives from: 

Division for Air Quality
The mission of the Kentucky Division for Air Quality is to protect human health and the environment by achieving and maintaining acceptable air quality through: Operation of a comprehensive air monitoring network; Creating effective partnerships with air pollution sources and the public; Timely dissemination of accurate and useful information; The judicious use of program resources; and Maintenance of a reasonable and effective compliance assurance program.

Roberta Burnes
Roberta Burnes is a policy analyst and certified environmental educator for the Kentucky Division for Air Quality.  Ms. Burnes coordinates state-wide education and outreach for the division and serves as the division’s public information officer.
Division of College and Career Readiness, Kentucky Team Ag Ed 
Kentucky Team Ag Ed represents 143 high school and 7 middle school agricultural education programs in Kentucky schools.  We strive to prepare students for careers in the food, fiber, and natural resource industries.
Division of Compliance Assistance
The Division of Compliance Assistance exists to provide services that increase environmental knowledge and change behaviors. We do this to improve regulatory compliance, achieve exceptional performance and enhance the quality of Kentucky’s environment and communities.  
John Eisiminger
John is an Environmental Scientist V with the Division of Compliance Assistance, DCA.  He is the coordinator for KY EXCEL, the state’s environmental leadership program.  Before coming to DCA, he spent a year and a half supervising the Nonpoint Source Section of the Watershed Management Branch in the Division of Water.  Prior to that, he worked for 8 and ½ years in the Minerals Section of the Permit Review Branch in the Division for Air Quality.  He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Division of Program Standards, KY SHAPE Network
The Kentucky School Health And Physical Education (KY SHAPE) Network at the Kentucky Department of Education provides a comprehensive approach for engaging schools across the state to promote healthy schools: nutrition policies, physical education/activity policies and staff wellness.
Division of Water
Kentucky Division of Water’s Watershed Management activities are managed by a basin coordinator. The coordinator serves as a facilitator for agency activities and as a point of contact for local organizations interested in addressing clean water issues.

Fayette County Public Schools 
The mission of Fayette County Public Schools Sustainability is to empower students to create change through enduring improved sustainability by equipping school and community stakeholders with the tools and knowledge to preserve our natural and fiscal resources.
Tresine Logsdon
Tresine Logsdon spearheads the E=USE2 program in Fayette County Public Schools and supports school-based, student-driven sustainability and energy efficiency projects by working closely with teachers, principals and students.  She has 15 years of classroom teaching experience, most recently at Henry Clay High School teaching AP Env. Science and Biology where she helped HC become the first KY high school to complete the KY Green & Healthy Schools program and become a Model KGHS school.
Kentucky Educational Television
KET’s mission is to make Kentucky a better place and strengthen its communities by educating, inspiring, informing, and connecting its citizens through the power of public media.
Mary Duncan
Mary Duncan, Director of P-12 Instructional Resources at Kentucky Educational Television, oversees the production of videos, interactive games, and other resources for Kentucky classrooms. A graduate of Murray State University, she earned her PhD in English from the University of Kentucky.
